The Gratitude Workbook + Journal

For Clinicians and Coaches

Gratitude is often recommended as a wellness practice, but for many neurodivergent people, traditional approaches can feel forced, inaccessible, or even invalidating.

The Gratitude Workbook + Journal was created with this in mind—offering a gentle, neurodivergent-affirming framework that helps individuals engage gratitude in ways that feel authentic, sustainable, and supportive.

Developed by Dr. Megan Anna Neff, a neurodivergent psychologist, this resource blends research with lived experience. It explores both the benefits and the challenges of gratitude for Autistic and ADHD adults, while offering clinicians and coaches practical tools to integrate into client work.

Inside the Workbook + Journal

✦ An overview of the science of gratitude, with attention to neurodivergent contexts and barriers
✦ Exploration of why gratitude can be helpful and why it can sometimes feel difficult or even harmful
✦ Clear explanations of the mental health benefits of gratitude for neurodivergent people—such as support for executive functioning, RSD, and burnout recovery
✦ Practical strategies for cultivating authentic gratitude practices with clients
✦ A 28-day gratitude journal with prompts designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, adaptable, and repeatable

How Clinicians & Coaches Can Use This Resource

✔ Introduce gratitude in a way that validates client barriers rather than dismisses them
✔ Offer psychoeducation alongside reflective exercises for both individual and group settings
✔ Provide clients with a structured, accessible resource they can return to over time
